As an approved construction partner for Barnet & Southgate College, our contracting team delivered extensive refurbishment works to the complete external envelope of the College’s 5-storey Main Teaching Block at their occupied Southgate campus

Key Points:

• Erection of full-height scaffold system with Tufcoat wrap and hoist provision

• Removal of existing curtain walling, render, Crittall windows and asbestos

• Installation of Technal aluminium cladding and window panels, euroSol vertical box fin system, and Brise-Solel to the south-facing elevation

• Application of Sto render, concrete repairs and new signage

• Coordination of M&E services and links to building interface

• Internal refurbishment to ‘make good’ following installation

Key Challenges:

• Delivering in a Live Campus Environment - Health and safety was a top priority, and we worked closely with key stakeholders, facilities management team and end-users to carefully plan and reduce, wherever possible, our interface with the students, staff and members of the public.

• Complete Segregation - The site boundary of the Block was fully secured whilst the campus remained live and operational, and we erected a full-height scaffold with a protective Tufcoat wrap and walkways to access the external envelope.
